This was one of the worst interview processes of my life. I had an initial interview with the hiring manager. He didn't indicate to me whether there would be a second interview and I didn't know what to expect after the first one so I didn't think I would get a call back. I got an email to schedule the second interview which would be an hour-long interview with a panel. I started the interview and they were late. There were a few very technical questions but most of them were situation based and I felt like I did very well. One of the panelists on the interview was from HR. At the end of the interview I was asked if I had any additional questions but we had never discussed the compensation for the position, but how could I ask them that question out in the open? The interview took over an hour. Maybe like an hour and 10 minutes so I was running late logging back into work which I was not notified or they did not attempt to wrap up the interview before the hour was up. They told me they would be getting back to me within a week or so. I sent a thank you email within the next week and there was no response. I sent a follow-up email and the response was we will get back to you shortly. 3 weeks later I sent another email because they still did not respond and I log into the portal to find out that I had not been selected. All that preparation, them being late for the interview, that long interview process for them not to even have the decency to follow up with me and tell me that I was not selected for the position. It was very unprofessional.
