I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at General Mills (Minneapolis, MN) in Sep 2018
Interview
I had been chatting with a recruiter at GM for about 6 months before I received an email to come and interview in person. It took this long because of timing on my side. The recruiter was amazing. I met with seven people on the day of the interview. Honestly, most of the people were fair and personable. The questions ranged from basic personality questions, to tell me about a time..., to launching a new product. I will say be prepared to understand processing of every single GM product and I mean everything.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Minneapolis, MN) in Apr 2014
Interview
HR was very professional, greeted me at the hall, then escorted me to a small conference room. Apparently candidate can't be allowed to walk into their RD building, which is totally understandable. Then the interview began with hiring manager, manager of hiring manager, and some other managers. Good lunch from their cafeteria. Really enjoyable interview process.
