The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Minneapolis, MN) in Oct 2011
Interview
It was a pretty standard interview. the interviewer started by jotting down some general information about me into her computer and then read from her computer a list of situational questions and asked me to respond. It was a little weird having her type the entire time i was responding but all in all it was a fair interview.

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills in Sep 2011
Interview
Met General Mills at an on campus event. A few weeks later after applying, there was an invite only information session. A week later, first round interviews happened followed by second round interviews the day after that. After 2nd round interviews there was to be an office visit a month later. They really stress fitting in with their company. They also mentioned that it's not uncommon for their employees to interview 2 or 3 times before getting a position at General Mills so it definitely depends on who your interviewer is and how you connect with them. I spoke to the head recruiter and other representatives several times and they made it seem that it was a great fit but then had an interviewer who didn't really seem to try to get to know me as much as he did look at his laptop and follow a schedule of behavioral/situational questions. He also didn't seem to be prepared since he thought I was interviewing for an internship position versus a full time one even though there was a clear note from the head recruiter saying I was a full time applicant. There were multiple interviewers at my school and apparently each of them pick their favorite(s) interviewees and fill very few spots for 2 hour interviews the next day. Was really surprised and thought it was unprofessional they didn't notify me I didn't progress through the interview process.
Seems like a great company from when I was getting to know them at events and the information session. Got along with everyone pretty well except for my interviewer so that was unfortunate.
