I applied online. I interviewed at General Mills (Golden Valley, MN) in May 2017
Interview
My first contact was an email from the recruiter and then a phone interview a Finance manager. The next day, I was invited for an in person interview with a few finance directors and the finance recruiter. Prior to the in person interview, there were 2 online personality assessments and a deductive reasoning assessment that were required to be completed in addition to completing the official application within their system. When I arrived onsite, I met a senior analyst within the department for coffee and a tour. The in person interview was great; the people I met with were very personable and helpful. They do ask a few curve ball business questions to understand your thought process, but they also definitely want to make sure it's a good fit for both you and the Company.

Interview
I applied online and in about a week or two I had received an email to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview lasted about half an hour and was general screening questions about my history and about the position. Later that day, I received an email for to schedule an in person formal interview.
Once that was scheduled, I received an itinerary a few days before the interview. It was scheduled as four interviews over a two hour period. The first was with the person I had the phone interview with and was over coffee at the caribou near the cafeteria. The second was with an HR manager. The third was with the division Director. The final interview was with a department manager that works closely with the department I was interviewing for.
The coffee interview was very informal and more informational and just a chat about the position and any questions I may have had about it. The other three interviews had the same format of introduction for you and the interviewer. Then “STAR” interview questions. Do yourself a favor, google STAR interview questions and prepare yourself for the questions and how you can answer them.
The interviewers made the process very comfortable and friendly. I felt at ease during the interview after being very nervous when I arrived.

Interview
Went smooth. Not high pressure. No questions were meant to stump you. Started by speaking with the recruiting manager, then 3-half hour interviews with position leaders, and followed up by speaking with the HR manager to answer any questions you might still have.
