Strange. I felt flat out lied to by the recruiter during the interview as the level of subterfuge was alarming. I had done research on the company and had also chatted with current and former employees, so I had a good idea of the role already but wanted to hear more from GLG to see if it would be good fit for me.
During the interview, the recruiter described what sounded to me like a recruiting job. I told her "It sounds like the job is to be an account manager/recruiter." The recruiter then said "No, it's not a recruiting job at all" then she re-explained the role and, AGAIN, the job sounded just like being a recruiter. It felt like I was being lied to or she was explaining the role very poorly; either one of those two things do not reflect well on GLG.
Then, when we got to salary, I could kind of see why she wasn't being transparent. The salary is nickel and diming you especially given the scope of the role, the amount of money you'd be continually bringing in to the company, and the fact that they want you to work at night , weekends etc. There are lots and lots of recruiting firms in my area where I could make twice the money cold-calling than what GLG was offering. I could see from the previous Glassdoor reviews that the job was a recruiting one that did involve cold-calling.
The lack of transparency throughout the interview process, especially after I gave the recruiter several attempts to clarify throughout our interview, left a bad taste in my mouth about GLG. I was actually tempted to end the interview in the middle of it because I could not a clear answer on really anything from the Recruiter.
