I submitted my resume and cover letter and was e-mailed for an interview about a month later. I was interviewed by the senior strategist. I was expecting to feel more passion for this cause, but the interview was extremely cold. The description of the position I applied for was completely different than what I was being asked. All she could focus on was my experience in PR when online the position was described as a research and report based job. As someone who usually has a smooth time on phone interviews, this conversation was extremely dull and awkward. I will definitely continue to be involved with GLAAD, but this interview steered me away from wanting to intern there.
