The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Forever 21 (Louisville, KY) in Jan 2011
Interview
Submitted my resume online, and they emailed me back that the store was having open interviews for a couple days. I went on the last day and filled out my app. The lady that interviewed me was super nice and even complimented what I was wearing, the questions were VERY simple, whats your greatest asset to offer, etc. Then she explained that they were building a new, much bigger store, and what was expected. I got offered a job right there on the spot.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Forever 21 in Dec 2010
Interview
It was an open interview. I applied online but didn't get selected, they did send emails to me about the open interviews though so I went to the first open interview. There were 3 managers sitting in the room, it was pretty intimidating walking in since I've never done a job interview before. First I had to talk a bit about myself. They asked me some questions like how would I manage my time between school and work if I got the job, and how many hours I expected to work a week. The head district manager asked me what did I know about Forever 21. Unfortunately I didn't do much research about the company so my answer was pretty bland. They asked me what was one of the toughest situations I've been in and how did I overcome it. Another question was about what customer service I did since my resume showed I didn't have retail experience. Overall, the managers were really friendly and the interview ended in about no more than 10 minutes. The head manager told me if they were interested in hiring me, they'd call in 48 hours to talk about a second interview, otherwise they'd keep my resume in their files. I ended up getting a call in around 60 hours, so I was surprised, and assumed I needed to go in for a second interview, but the person told me I was hired for the job, no 2nd interview needed. Advice I'd offer is to research the company you're applying for before going in for an interview.
