First Student School Bus Driver interview questions

2 interviews. 4 tests at dmv before you can even get hired. I think it was 40 hours behind the wheel training. Then a drive test for your class B licence. Then ride along before you can drive your route on your own.

I contacted First Student 2 weeks in advance via telephone and was told to come by and drop in for a meeting. I showed up and met with management on a Friday afternoon, I was enticed with a very lucrative signing bonus. This signing bonus was a total SHAM. The school bus driving position did indeed exist but to date (years later) the signing bonus still has never been paid out. At the final hiring interview, the rate of pay was less than what was discussed in the initial meeting. Be advised that First Student demands you to "train" a.k.a. volunteer 40 hours before being officially hired. And that is coming in with many years experience as a school bus driver! I can see being denied the signing bonus and being expected to train 40 hrs prior to hire if and ONLY if someone came in off the street with no experience or no CDL. But this is WITH all the credentials, a pristine Motor Vehicle Report, experience and good references. I should have known that when company starts off this sketchy... it will only get worse.
