I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at FAA (Washington, DC)
Interview
Very personal and light hearted. Felt like it was a formality rather then a normal government interview. It was the only government interview that I ever had that was not a panel. The interviewer was the direct supervisor. Know yourself and your resume and you will do fine.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at FAA (Everett, WA) in Oct 2011
Interview
NONE. Most peculiar. But my line of report was NOT through the local director, and my impression was that this was why he could not pass on my employment.
OTOH, I had to pass the Federal vetting for a "Secret" clearance before I could start work.
