I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at FAA (Saint Paul, MN) in Jul 2015
Interview
Through Email and over the phone. It was very straight forward and the question were more about them trying to figure out if I had a clue about the job more than psychoanalytical garbage.
I applied through other source. The process took 6+ months. I interviewed at FAA (Washington, DC) in Jun 2014
Interview
I was emailed and asked to submit a resume. I was given a phone interview, but was offered a lessor job instead. The person who called didn't know much about the job, and I only accepted because I was desperate for work.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at FAA in Aug 2014
Interview
The interview was done onsite with the hiring manager. Questions were around your experience and scenario based problem solving. It took about an hour and went smoothly. Nothing was tricky. As long as you are prepared to tell your own story based on your resume and explain how it is matching the job description, you should be all fine.
