I was emailed by the Hiring Team asking for my availability for an interview, amongst other information such as current salary and salary expectations. I heard nothing back. Upon chasing, I received a generic email to say we're not moving forward. After strenuous follow up, I was told they were unable to meet my salary expectations. This was disappointing as they had previously told me they wanted to interview me, and surely it's for me to assess whether the salary meets my expectations or not. There was no disclosure of salary or discussion with me. Very poor process and assumption based.
