What a truly terrible experience. Initial interview was with a gentleman from HR and to be fair he was really good, discussed the role and touched upon my experience. I was advised hiring manager was on annual leave for 2 weeks and they would be in touch.
After 2 weeks HR got back in touch with a number of dates and times to select for interview. I shared a number of options and we agreed a date and time.
I took the morning of the interview off, using annual leave, so I could prepare etc. I joined the Teams meeting 15 minutes before start time to ensure I had time to deal with any technical issues, should they arise. 10 minutes after interview start time, I was still the only one in meeting room and I feared I misread the start time so checked my emails. In doing this, I found an email sent 10 mins before my interview was scheduled to start to say the interview is going to be postponed until later that week. No phone call, just an email.
I find this sort of behavior extremely disrespectful, especially given I had used annual leave to attend the times offered.
Giving the lack of respect and behavior shown by Dexcom it was best I withdrew my application.
Interviews are a two way thing and first impressions are so important. Can't help but feel the whole saga was a waste of my time and precious annual leave.
Appreciate things can change, but a simple phone call goes a long way in addressing changes in schedules. What happened to treat others as you wish to be treated.
Based on my experience I'd certainly not consider applying for any future roles at Dexcom.
