Applied through an employee referral and quickly received and email inviting me for a telephone interview. From then the process became exceptionally slow, taking 3+ months and requiring me to chase with several emails and phone calls in order to schedule the call.
The telephone interview with HR was rather unprofessional. There was little focus on measuring my abilities for the role, motivations or fit with the company - rather the recruiter was more interested in trying to manage salary expectations, even attempting to persuade me to apply for a more junior role!
I was told that a partner interview would follow and was warned that any hiring decisions would not happen for approximately 3 months. It turns out that Deloitte have overstretched themselves and taken on too much staff. It is not clear whether this is a UK-only situation or not.
Overall the experience did not leave a positive impression of Deloitte. It turns out that they have outsourced their recruitment to an external agency who are not presenting Deloitte in a the right way to future talent. I've been through similar recruitment processes with several of Deloitte's competitors who were all much more responsive and professional than this.
