      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DLA Piper (Auckland, ) in Apr 2023

      Interview

It was an Assessment day that ran from 8.30 until 4.30 pm, or around that time. There were around 30 people who were selected from all the applicants. We each had an individual schedule for the day, which included three 'assessments'. The first for me was a group assessment, where a group of three of us had to come up with a presentation topic within 5-10 minutes, and present to one of the employees in the room with us. We were likely assessed on communication, presenting ideas and confidence. The second assessment was the interview. Two employees interviewed me. They asked questions such as 'What would you do when you don't know how to do something', 'What are some of your weaknesses' etc. It was relatively conversational as well. The final assessment was an individual task, where we had to review a 15-page booklet based on a particular legal scenario. We then had about 45 minutes to an hour to come up with a solution for this legal issue based on the fake evidence provided such as correspondence, data, and more. The whole process was smooth enough. However, they didn't really give any feedback whatsoever when they called to tell us that we were not successful for the job. To put in that much effort to not have constructive feedback was disappointing.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at DLA Piper (Perth, Australia Occidental) in Aug 2018

      Interview

Lengthy. It is conducted on an international scale so that interviews all over the world are close to the same. It consisted of a 1 hour interview (1-1), a group interview and an individual presentation to a partner. The entire process took around 5 hours.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The usual behavioural questions. Nothing too technical. But they expect you to ask them technical questions at the end of the interview that demonstrate your business acumen.
