      Specialist - DC Office Interview

      Apr 27, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Washington, DC
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at DLA Piper (Washington, DC) in Dec 2014

      Interview

It was a three-interview process which started with an outsourced employment agency, im assuming is assigned to DLA Piper, who gave me a set of instructions for a test that evaluates my capability to use Microsoft office (esp. excel) and my grammar skills. The first interview is by phone with the employment agency, then you get invited the firm to meet with an HM who will ask you a series of questions in a very nice conference room. The last interview was with two of the partners i was mainly going to be doing work with, a paralegal, a section leader, and the HM from the second interview. Initially it was intimidating meeting this large group of people who you may possibly be working with on a daily basis but they were very welcoming and professional. They are a huge firm with a huge amount of employees so the panel with the wide variety of individuals was necessary. The three interviews were completely fairly quickly. I received my first interview two weeks after applying and i went through all three interviews within a week and a half. The pay offered was fairly low.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Interview questions were fairly simple for the second interview which included: goals, skills, interests outside of work, ways to deal with issues at work, intentions to stay with the firm
