I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Crossover for Work in May 2017
Interview
started with a quick quiz with 10 questions on a variety of topics - that was alright.
after passing the quiz, you get an assignment which, according to them would be similar to something you would handle day-to-day. time limit was set to 24 hours, but the assignment boasted of needing only 8-10. this was the big snag with that assignment - it was in no shape or form a 10 hour job as it included - functional testing + code reviews + coding two new modules + unit tests for both existing code and your new module + documentation + a video demo.
if that was something an engineering manager handles day-to-day, then even the 100k salary they're putting up is way not enough. I put in what I accomplished in 14 hours (4 hours extra then the advertised) - and of course - it wasn't enough.
I can understand wanting the 1% - but I would wager that the current testing process would turn off that 1% instead of encouraging them to follow through.

Question 1
Given this hastily coded news publishing site - please perform the following: functional testing + code reviews + coding two new modules + unit tests for both existing code and your new module + documentation + a video demo, in 24 hours.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a feedback. We are sorry that our recruitment process did not meet your standards. I understand how frustrating it is to be doing the tests. In Crossover, we administer the tests to be able to filter the applicants who among them is part of the 1%. If there are things that you wish for us to improve on, please feel free to send it to feedback@crossover.com.

Interview
The process was scam. I asked so many questions related the legitimacy and the professionalism of the company. They all tried to make me quit my current job. When I declined their offer, they proposed a final interview with some guy from Malta and they said we are rejecting you. The reason is when I reviewed the company (like now) hey would say, he is saying bad things about us because we rejected him.
They think that only rejection the people experience are from them. They are very shallow and they claim that they are hiring top %1 talent. But none of technical stuff are working in First World Countries.
