Crossover for Work interview questions

Process started with online application. First step was online quiz on basic testing. Questions were easy but few were vague. If you have understanding of basic testing principles then you can clear this test(Prepare for ISTQB foundation level tester course then you can easily pass this step). Result was sent immediately through mail. Next step was assignment which they call Tech Trial. One trial version of web application was given to test. You have to do exploratory testing, write text cases, execute test cases, write defect summary report and test summary report for that application. Even though they claim that time required for this assignment is 8-10 hrs for me it took around 15-16 hrs. 2 days after submission I received mail that you have cleared this step. Next step was Skype interview. Interview was professional and interviewer was experienced. It went around 30 mins starting with work experience. All questions were related to testing(see below). After few hours I received mail saying that we can't continue your application with evaluation of assignment and skype interview. Reason for rejection were low defect found in testing (which was true as I could find only 2 defects) and few others that like no experience in performance testing and security testing. Overall experience was good.

I really like the idea of the hiring process and the fact that you need to do a real life project with a demo , but the real problem is the evaluation. The reasons why my project was rejected were ridiculous - No demo given: I did a perfect demo but the video couldn’t be uploaded due to the 250mb limitation on their website so I uploaded it on youtube and put a link - Design doc: Just a diagram and high level summary; Lacks on tech implementation in detail; Here there was no description on what exactly is needed in the diagram - simply put just make a diagram , that is ! I did include all necessary technical details are in the ReadMe and the Deployment document - Docker specs: Code not submitted, this was required as per specs; Not possible to evaluate a deployment or cloud uploaded code base;” I have put all submitted code in Github as it was needed as part of the project demo with a link the repo.Github is the de facto standard for code review and code submission The reviewer cannot click a link ? really ? , this is a technical position , so should be reviewed by technical people that know how to click on a link to see the code.
