I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Zama, Kanagawa) in Mar 2015
Interview
The supervisor sets a definite date and time for the interview. If you are not a member nor an employee of the company, you are required to go to the exit and claim a visiting pass where you will sign in as a visitor. Afterwards, they will let you proceed to the conference room where they will ask you questions about your previous work, experiences and more. They will get the necessary details for the job position. If you pass they will call and set a date for the orientation.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Pearland, TX) in Sep 2015
Interview
2 fold. The first encounter was a get-to-know-you are your prior work experiences. Then there was a list of pretty standard questions that followed: Describe a time you had a conflict with a fellow employee and how did you resolve it. Describe a time you went above and beyond at work. Describe a time you worked in a fast paced environment.
The second part was a week later, and it was about scheduling and availability.

Interview
Had a couple interviews, the first of which was a mass interview where they were looking at a bunch of candidates. The questions were pretty typical, "How would you react if x happened?", "What are your strengths/weaknesses?", "Tell us about a time where x happened and how you responded.", etc. The second interview was more an offer and was one-on-one with the manager.
