Interview
There is an online application where you'll need recommenders and (I believe) an essay as to why you're interested in working for City Year. If you're passed to the next round, you'll do an in person (maybe phone interviews are available, too) interview where you'll speak with someone about why you're interested in working for City Year and why education is important.

Interview
I applied online. I was contacted by the recruiter for one 30 min phone interview. I expected the interview to be "awkward" in that I thought the interviewer would take more time to type out questions. It wasn't really like that; it felt like a regular phone interview, with the interviewer responding to each of my responses (e.g., "that sounds like a great experience"). All of the interview questions here on glassdoor are super accurate. Go through them & prepare concise narratives accordingly.

Interview
They didn't ask me about anything on my resume, but instead focused the majority of the questions on my knowledge of City Year and City Year's values. The interviewer was very nice, but it felt a little bit awkward being over the phone instead of in person. Some of the questions were very, very easy, while other ones caught me a little bit off guard.
