I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at City Year (Milwaukee, WI) in Sep 2015
Interview
The interview itself was pretty informal, was over skype. Was a series of questions just asking for response. Make sure to have 1-2 questions at the end for when they say do you have any questions for us. First you apply fill out short answer response questions then if you get past that round they email you a list of potential matches you rank them. Then you will get matched with one place and then interview specifically to that one place you'll hear back in about a weeks time yes or no. Then you have approximately 2-3 weeks to decide yes or no. The earlier deadline the better for applying as more options are available especially if you are wanting to be in a specific location.

Question 1
what is one time that you showed leadership while working with young people?
The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at City Year (Detroit Lakes, MN) in Feb 2016
Interview
This was the most difficult interview ever, merely because of logistics and planning. You have a phone screen-30-45 minutes. Then as the 2nd step you are given 4 top level team members that need to interview you too. Now, this requires some scheduling, meaning sneaking out of your current job, especially if you are super interested in the job. After 4 grueling interviews with top level officials and calling off and leaving work early, you get no response what so ever!!!! You guys really need to be more considerate of prospective candidate time. Have the decency to send a rejection email or letter.
I applied online. I interviewed at City Year (New York, NY)
Interview
After the application was submitted, I received a request for a phone interview that was about 45 minutes long and after that a couple weeks later I got the letter that I got the job.
