The process began with an extensive online application after which I received a phone screen invitation in approximately two weeks. The phone screen (about 20 minutes) was conducted by an HR representative who asked basic questions about salary expectations, experience, reason for leaving current role, and reason for pursuing their position. A 2nd phone interview (nearly 45 minutes) by another HR person was more extensive and pursued questions likely generated by the hiring manager as they were more specific and targeted. I received a third call from the initial HR representative to schedule in person discussions. During this call I inquired about the salary range where I learned that the top end of the range was $30k below my current salary. It was very disappointing to learn the salary range after multiple phone interviews despite the fact that I had shared salary expectations both in the online application process and the initial phone screen with HR. I followed up with the HR person share salary benchmark data from my current and prior organizations as well as referencing online materials to no avail. Their salary ranges seem to be 1-2 wage grades off industry averages.
