Two rounds on phone with HR and hiring manager, followed by one final round of face-to-face with the hiring manager and others in a panel or one on one setting.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavioral - How to address where there is a conflict within the team to move forward.
While I have listed no offer, I am still mid process so it is TBD.
The recruiting and scheduling is the worst I have experienced in my nearly 20 year career. Specifically, the following has occurred:
1) Recruiter sending me a Teams invite for an initial interview without any communication whatsoever, including no consideration of availability. I currently have a full time job, and even if I did not, no one has a 100% wide open schedule.
2) When I responded with my availability and request to reschedule, they misunderstood or misread and sent me a new calendar invitation for a time that still didn't work. I had said I am available between 3-4, and the invitation was for 4.
3) For the hiring manager interview, the recruiter passed me along to the scheduling department. We agreed on a time from the 2 options they gave me (neither were great), and that later had to be rescheduled due to the hiring manager's change in schedule. The only new option they provided me ended past 6pm and was not remotely feasible due to parenting commitments. The scheduler also argued with me when I said I cannot do the proposed time the following day. We eventually found a time that worked the following week and the interview with the hiring manager went very well.
Overall, the administration around recruiting and scheduling has been an excruciatingly painful process and has not left a good impression as I work through the interview process. The recruiters seem to assume that candidates are desperate to work at Carrier and have little consideration for our schedules.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Carrier (San Diego, CA) in Mar 2022
Interview
Had several interviews with HR, then one with the hiring manager over zoom. Did not hear back from the recruiter after several interviews, which was very inconsiderate after the amount of time I spent interviewing
