I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CarMax in Jun 2015
Interview
In one word : GRUELING! It was an extremely emotionally draining process. Several phone interviews followed by an in person "session" where you go thru several panel interviews, drug testing, background testing and an aptitude test. Throughout this process they feed you lunch. Overall the day lasted 5 hours only to not get the job or even be contacted about whether you were selected or not. Great company but I don't think I would ever want to go through that again.

Question 1
Too many questions. ..seems like they used the DDI method of interviewing
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CarMax (Raleigh, NC) in Jul 2015
Interview
It was quite tiring really. I felt the questions asked were repeated in many ways. I sometimes felt the interview was testing my endurance levels because it looked like it wasn't going to end and i was beginning to get irritated repeating the same thing.

Question 1
What is your best asset how would that make you a good sales associate?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CarMax (Nashville, TN) in Jul 2012
Interview
It is very thorough. The process begins online with entering your background information and also an assessment. If you pass the assessment and they are interested, you will be called to schedule a phone interview, which usually lasts 15 minutes. After that, if they like you, you will be called in for an in person interview. This interview will be first with a manager and then if available, a senior manager. If a senior manager is not available, you will have to schedule to come back a second time to complete the final interview. For me personally, they originally offered the position to someone else so it took over a month to get back to me because of this reason.
