CodeSignal. 4 questions in 70 minutes. I feel the time aspect of it is the hardest part. 4 questions in 70 minutes is hard considering each problem statement is a long essay. I shouldn't have to read War and Peace for every question.
The test seems like a pure iq/speed test. If you did great on your SATs you will do well here. Very little to do with actual software engineering. It is a very frustrating experience and I feel like the companies using it are sending it out in mass to candidates making it a waste of my time. In the future I will just politely decline CodeSignal as it just feels hopeless.

Question 1
NDA pointless to disclose anyway since it is a long essay you are better off reading War and Peace.
1. Recruiter Screening - 30 mins
2. Mini-case - 1 hr
3. Powerday (2 Business Case interviews, 1 Product interview) - 4 hrs
Fairly simple process, not too many rounds. No behavioral questions for me, except for a brief introduction at the beginning of each interview. Gave a great power day in my opinion, completed all rounds with correct solutions and yet didn't get recommended for hire. Not sure where I lost..

Introduce yourself and then dived into the case
Business case questions based on basic P&L and break-even
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Oct 2025
Interview
There were 2 cases and 1 behavioral case. Overall, the interview was pretty straightforward, and helpful resources were provided by the recruiter. There was no coding involved. They mostly ask about weighted average, breakeven, and other financial questions.
