Boston University Research Assistant interview questions

Interview was standard for the position. Asking about my interest in the research project and previous research experience. They seems very interested until we discussed salary and I suppose I didn't keep the surprise off my face at the $40k salary with no room for negotiation.

During the interview, I explained my career plan and interests to the professor and then presented my portfolio. She asked me about the classes I had taken, and several related questions to examine my foundation.
