I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Boeing (Austin, TX) in Sep 2013
Interview
Interviewed after meeting Boeing at a college career fair. They mentioned that they had several position online to apply for, but that they were offering several positions as part of their enhanced hiring program. I was offered a spot to interview the next day. My interview was by three Full Time engineers who were from different locations around the country and different positions in Boeing. They asked me five behavioral questions, and then gave me time to ask them questions. My whole interview took 45 minutes, and I was given a letter of intent the next day.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Boeing in Jun 2013
Interview
I applied online, got an interview a week later. The interview was scheduled to last 45 minutes, but mine lasted about an hour and a half. I receive an offer call from my boss after 3 hours. An effective PM is one that shows very strong empathetic skill and strength/confidence in their ability to lead and get the job done.
Remember, when you get an interview, they already think you're qualified. Make sure you are able to convey your social skills and passion for project management in your interview. It is by far one of the most difficult jobs to land due to the rare nature of someone who possesses strong social skill, technical prowess, and proven adaptability.
