Big 5 Sporting Goods interview questions

Applied online. Took about 3 days to hear back. Went down to the Big 5 store they wanted me for. Waited for half an hour for the manager to start the interview. Guy didn't even tell me why I had to wait or even apologize. Easy questions. Offered the job at the end of the interview.

Applications are now online, though I picked mine up in person before this policy was implemented. It was about a week before I was called in for an interview. The interview itself was fairly easy, there were no specific questions in regards to products or my knowledge thereof. At the end of the interview I was taken out onto the sales floor and given a basic math test that included adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing real numbers and decimals without a calculator. I was told this was to ensure that if power was lost I could complete a transaction accurately without the aid of the register's computer. I found this a simple test, though I can imagine some would find it difficult. I am not sure of what counts as "passing" or if failure would result in not being hired. I was offered the current minimum wage, which was somewhere around $8/hr It was about a week before I was put on the schedule and began working.
