I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Andela in Nov 2024
Interview
The interview process is quite direct and objective. I just had a quick chat with HR and they sent me a test.
It consisted of two theoretical tests and one practical test. The practical test was problematic. They put some test cases in, but if your code passes the test, it does not mean your code works well because they have "hidden" tests, which do not make sense at all. I think that's a very unrealistic scenario.
Plus, on the test result, they don't give any feedback or at least say where you were wrong. I had to open a support ticket to ask for feedback.

Question 1
- Tell me about your experience
- Salary expectation
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Andela in Sep 2024
Interview
Google level interview questions.
Somalia level package.
It was 1 and half hours online assessment.
The first part was easy but second and third part were really FAANG level leetcode hard questions. They are expecting you to create a trie data structure in 30 mins along with web api creation including data fetching from third party source, routing and what not!
A bit impersonal, feels like an automated conveyor belt. The initial steps are just personal information and an optional language (English) skill assessment, which are pretty straight forward, The issue is with the final timed skill assessment requiring webcam access and it does not give you the option to postpone the test and set one up you only learn of the requirement once the test has been activated and after that it counts down and marks that as a failed attempt.
