I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at American Red Cross (Lansing, MI) in Mar 2015
Interview
You'll be recruited by a talent scout that works for the ARC, they will schedule you an interview with direct manager and 2 other usually. Its a very generic interview process. You'll need to have a strong personality and not be afraid of sales for this position.

Interview
Applied online through the Red Cross website. Created a profile and then scheduled an in-person run-through of the tasks with a veteran volunteer. Not much of an interview process as it was a simple volunteer job. You check blood donors in, compare them against the schedule, and stock the snack area. Super chill and a good way to catch up on some reading/studying/homework in-between check ins.

Interview
After applying online (internship openings were posted much later than promised), I was eventually contacted by someone from HR (if I recall correctly) to set up the initial phone interview. We had a great conversation about my background and what the internship would entail, and then she eventually passed my name onto the hiring manager. About a week later, he contacted me and we had a second phone interview a week following that. Finally, I was offered the position only a few weeks before the summer internship was to start. Applying for one of these internships requires you to know you want it- applications open and all interviews happen after most application cycles are complete. For example, I had another internship lined up before I was even able to apply for this one.
