I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Red Cross (New York, NY)
Interview
Very standard interview, no unexpected questions. Asked me why I left my other positions, what I bring to the table, how I feel about navigating a bureaucracy, and how I manage projects as to not lose important details.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at American Red Cross in Apr 2011
Interview
Interview was conducted in a casual restaurant environment by the potential supervisor. Questions were probing, but the conversation was engaging. Follow-up interview by telephone was also a very positive experience. Plenty of opportunity for me to ask questions and gain a good understanding of the department/agency's goals, as well as the supervisor's personality and management style. I marked that I did not get the offer, but it was due to a hiring freeze and I was told I would get the offer when the freeze was over. I accepted another position.
