I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Jun 2014
Interview
The interview was about 40 mins and was professional in friendly manner. The interviewer seemed to be a very knowledgeable person who helped make the question answer session easy and fun.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
The experience was not particularly great, it was a very tiring and nerve wrecking experience given it took over 5 hours to complete. I did not particularly enjoy it, and have had mixed interviewers through the day. It started as:
1. Networking (routing / troubleshooting)
2. Bar Raiser (just general questions to dive into how I approach problems, how vocally self critical I am, etc, e.g 'tell me a time when')
3. HM. This was awkward. Not a friendly chap at all
4. Linux questions.
5. General leadership/team&culture fit questions
6. Coding exercise. This was a horrible experience, the engineer was not very friendly and at one point, I noticed him rolling his eyes. I have found him in the building since joining amazon, but I am yet to figure out his name so I can file a complaint.
