I applied through other source. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Austin, TX) in Mar 2022
Interview
I recieved an invitation to interview after I applied to another position. I thought that it was strange that I was being contacted for this role because I did not express interest in that unit or role. I did a phone screen with a recruiter and interviewed via Amazon Chime with the hiring manager. The hiring manager worked in retail his entire career and didn't seem to understand any of the examples or work-related results that I offered durning our interview. Within about 5 minutes of the interview I decided that I probably didn't want the role or to serve on his team. Four days after the interview I received a rejection email and I was glad.

Interview
Prescreen "assessment" that was straightforward.
Phone screen was 45 minutes, not with the hiring manager. Typical STAR questions and some information about the role. The format is very consistent at Amazon. It seemed like I would be recommended for the next round, but that didn't happen.

Had no screening interview with the recruiter, was scheduled for a 1-hr video interview with the direct hiring manager. Interviewer gave very little emotion/non-verbal feedback during questions. Most answers were greeted with a response of "Ok" and very little follow-up questioning.
