I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate (Hudson, OH) in Oct 2012
Interview
Lengthy, harsh and very invasive. The make you jump through a lot of hoops with the same old questions. You tell the same story you have to other employers. If they don't like you, you can tell.

Interview
I applied online and within one week I was contacted by an Allstate Recruiter. The beginning process was easy, phone interview then assessment if selected. I was contacted by a Claims Adjuster manager to do an in person interview. The first 20-30 minutes consisted of the manager explaining that this was a tough job for a woman to do because most body shops are run by men. He then went on to tell me that there really weren't many women in the field. After that he asked me the routine interview questions. I wasn't surprised when I did not get an offer. I got the feeling he prefers hiring males.

Interview
Interviewers did not seem prepared. The first interviewer read from a packet and seemed to lack confidence. The second was a very open-ended conversation, but she said she couldn't tell me much about my expected responsibilities or what the department looked for in a candidate because they were inexperienced in the interview process, and had never before hired an intern. I quickly ran out of questions. The overall experience was awkward.
