Interview

The interview was performed on the phone. Allstate had 5 employees (Sr. Manager, Manager, Architect and 2 Systems Programmers) conduct the interview. Initial questions were targeting the Mainframe Network environment (TCP/IP and VTAM) and how I would plan, design, test and deploy network related changes. The second part of the interview consisted of more behavioral related questions. How would I react to specific situations. How do I feel about work related situations. How would I resolve conflict or disagreement in the office, etc.

What do you know about Sysplex Distributor and how it works? Are you familiar with CICS Web Services and its use of Dynamic Virtual IP addresses? What is your understanding of Change Control systems? How would you respond to a conflict amongst team members? How would you be inclusive of other members of your team and members of other teams? How would you collaborate with other teams, business units or vendors to accomplish project goals?

I applied online and was contacted right away asking for a telephone interview. That was scheduled within 2 days and I was invited to interview at the Seattle SCO office the following week. I was interviewed by Lead Counsel and a Paralegal that lasted about an hour, however, gave me the opportunity to detail my previous experience and how it would be an asset to their office.
