The HR recruited left a VM asking to call back to schedule an interview. When I called back, they said "thanks for calling back, let's start the interview, it will only be 10 mins so you should have no problem".
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Air Canada (Ciudad de México) in Apr 2024
Interview
My experience with the interview process at Air Canada was thorough, but I found it to be somewhat excessive in certain aspects. The initial telephone interview followed by an in-person final interview with the director seemed standard. However, I felt that the interviewers leaned heavily on behavioral questions, focusing extensively on how I would handle specific situations. While I understand the importance of assessing one's ability to navigate various scenarios, it seemed as though the emphasis on these questions overshadowed the relevance of my experience. It's possible that they may be seeking candidates with a different skill set or profile than what I possess. Overall, while the process was rigorous, I believe there could be a more balanced approach to evaluating candidates' qualifications and fit for the role. Additionally, one aspect of the interview process at Air Canada that could be improved is communication regarding the outcome. After completing the interviews, there was no confirmation whether I had been accepted or not. Given the lack of response within a reasonable timeframe, it seemed indicative that I may not have been selected for the position. Clear and timely communication regarding the status of candidates would greatly enhance the overall candidate experience.
