I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Air Canada (Toronto, ON) in May 2024
Interview
I applied to Air Canada through an online posting and received an invitation for a 15-20 minute phone interview about two weeks later. The interview was quite simple, with basic screening and behavioural questions that were easy to answer. However, by the end of the call, I felt that I hadn't learned much about the role beyond the job description or why it would be a good opportunity for me. It seemed like they weren't taking the hiring process seriously, and this was confirmed when they mentioned that the next round of interviews wouldn't start for another 2-3 weeks if I moved forward. Long story short, I received the rejection email around that time frame with a strange note stating that I "could re-apply for the position six months from the date of the email". I found this odd, as it made me wonder if the job would still be available in six months. Also, when I initially applied, the job posting was already considered old. I would advise others to consider skipping this role if it's reposted in the future to save time or a dent in your resume. Air Canada's brand reputation is not expected to improve anytime soon, and there is constant job insecurity for current employees. Anyway, good luck!

The 1st step is the language assessment, where a person would call you on the phone to assess the languages that you stated you speak on the application.
Then, you will have your virtual 1-on-1 interview. If successful, your medical exam will also be booked at the end of the inreview.
At the medical exam, several things will be tested. But most important of all is the drug/urine test.
If you pass the medical exam, you will receive an inviation for the group event. This will be in person or virtual depending on your location.
The group event consists of solving inflight issues with your group.
You will receive your offer if you are successful in your group event.

Interview
They make a mass interview process and keep candidates in a database for when there's vacancies at the airport. The whole process takes a lot of time. I was first interviewed in March 2023, then was offered the position full time in September 2023, but I could only do Part-time, so they send me a refusal email on Christmas eve 2024. What a great day to give that type of news to people! Just pure evil.
