I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Aerotek in Dec 2010
Interview
Submitted a resume for one for their job openings on their website. One of their recruiters called me about one weeks later and set up a telephone interview with one of their engineers. The telephone interview took place 2 weeks later. Questions about my thesis and background were asked. They were very interested in my background in FEM analysis, 3D CAD design and electromechanical engineering. About 20 to 30 questions were asked. These questions were basic if you had at least 1 year of experience. No need to spend time preparing the interview.

Interview
I first had a phone interview with one of their regional recruiters. After the phone interview I got a call to set up an interview with their branch manager. I had a face-to-face interview with the branch manager that was a little over an hour. Before the interview ended he said he would like to set up an interview with the Regional manager the next time he was in town.
My last interview with the regional manager took about 30 minutes. He let me know as soon as I got their that he was rushed for time and had a conference call to be on. The first thing he did was review my resume and while doing so notice I was currently attending school to get my HR certificate. Once he noticed that he flat out said he did not think it would work. He said in the past he had people with HR background go into the recruiter role and since it is not strictly "hr" they never last. I tried to reassure him that would not be the case with me but he already had his mind set.
