I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 3M (Maple Grove, MN) in Oct 2013
Interview
They invited me to interview and a group of people interviewed me. It was a complete waste of my time. Most of the people interviewing me seem disinterested. I don't know if they were burnt out from interviewing so many people or what their problem was. One guy was more worried about texting on his phone about a lunch date he was going to have later than in the interview. It was extremely disrespectful and I almost walked out mid interview. This company seems like it's full of bureaucratic scumbags and brown nosers. I will never waste my time so much as giving this company the time of day again. It's an older crowd so I think they don't want to get younger talent in who can take their place or some sort of simple minded mentality like that.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 3M (Maplewood, MN) in May 2015
Interview
The interview was about one hour long with the supervisor for the position. Probably one third of this time was the applicant talking and the other two thirds was a tour of the lab and description of activities you'd be responsible for.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you handle the situation if something in the lab didn't turn out as planned?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at 3M (Saint Paul, MN)
Interview
I applied online. Interview was pretty informal. I was just introduced to all the members of the lab, and was given a tour of the lab and all the equipment. Probably took a half hour or so total. They just asked very basic questions like the classes you are taking etc.
