I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 3M (Maple Grove, MN) in Oct 2013
Interview
They invited me to interview and a group of people interviewed me. It was a complete waste of my time. Most of the people interviewing me seem disinterested. I don't know if they were burnt out from interviewing so many people or what their problem was. One guy was more worried about texting on his phone about a lunch date he was going to have later than in the interview. It was extremely disrespectful and I almost walked out mid interview. This company seems like it's full of bureaucratic scumbags and brown nosers. I will never waste my time so much as giving this company the time of day again. It's an older crowd so I think they don't want to get younger talent in who can take their place or some sort of simple minded mentality like that.
Precise and concise, ask more about work attitude and past work experiences. Interviewers were generally kind and did mention what will be the work involved and responsibkities on the job.
I was interviewed only by one HR personnel. Interview went for about an hour and the questions asked were quite standard. A lot of the conversation was focused on the technical skills and not personality traits.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe one time where you had a big setback and how you overcame it
Two rounds, wasn't too bad. First was with one person and the second was a group interview. Asked general interview questions such as how I functioned in a teamwork and individual environment and was virtual via Microsoft Teams.
