I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at 24 Hour Fitness (Carlsbad, CA) in Jan 2013
Interview
Started with the usual sign up on their web page, have a conversation with HR, then get invited to Carlsbad for group interview with the team. Interview was pleasant, team seemed to be nice people, and the back and forth seemed to go pretty well. Make sure you know know your stuff, because like most interviews like this, they will figure it out if you're not up to par.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They had some obscure question about a java static serial class. Was not quite sure what they were after, so the answer I gave was jumbled. They also ask you to describe an interface and its benefits. But, they way they worded the question, I was not sure what they were after. Yes, I know what these things are, But I am not sure if I answered it to their satisfaction.
I submitted my resume and got a call from HR to set up an interview. I spent a half hour on the phone during the interview, at which time I was told they wanted to follow up with another phone interview with the manager. Then....I never heard from them again. They didn't return my emails or VMs. I guess they didn't want me, but still a one-line email saying so would have been the professional way of handling that.

Interview
Submitted my resume and application on line and was called a few days later for a phone screen interview. The screen interview had basic questions concerning interest and former workplace successes and challenges. At the end of the interview I was invited to an in-person interview a few days later. The questions were very similar to the first and they follow a corporate guideline book for interviews. Not a stressful situation but definitely need to be extremely outgoing and upbeat during the process. Third interview is a working interview and you must lead a trainer through a personal workout so make sure you have a plan and can explain your reasoning behind the work out.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During the working interview there were a lot of technical questions about muscle groups. Make sure you know and can explain different types of bicep curls.
