With National Manufacturing Day just around the corner this October 4, we're celebrating the brilliant minds and hardworking people that keep the world moving and inspire an extraordinary future all week. We asked, what does the manufacturing industry mean to you?
Say hello to Renzo, 👋 a Talent Acquisition (TA) Business Partner here at Flowserve! Renzo has been with our team for over two years, but his background in TA began about seven years ago. “It’s been more than two years full of experiences that have allowed me to expand my knowledge and skills.” Renzo says he’s inspired to learn something new every month: “Although I have seven years of experience in the TA field, there are always new situations that help to expand your knowledge, both personally and professionally.” When asked about his team, he says they are really close and always willing to help each other. “It’s one of the best places I’ve ever worked… they not only value me as a professional but also as a person.” In his free time, Renzo loves playing soccer and watching mixed martial arts (UFC). A great team begins with great Talent Acquisition. That’s why people like Soledad — who goes by ‘Sol’ — are so important! She has been a part of #TeamFlowserve for over six years, but her career in human resources began back in 2012. “Nothing has ever been more fulfilling to me.” Sol says she loves that her team gets to help people find jobs, and not just any jobs, but the right ones. “Once you start working, you can provide for your family, take care of your needs and belong to a group of people that at the end of the day you may even consider friends and family! …. My team is the starting point of that, and I value it so much.” Speaking of her team, Sol says she feels lucky to work with hers. “This is truly the dream team… there is no one here who doesn’t put on their Flowserve t-shirt and give their best every day to reach our goal of positive candidate experiences, only achieved by quality and excellence.” 💛 Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family playing board games, listening to music or heading to the beach with a good book and having maté (Argentina’s national drink). Meet Hanna Gerbstedt. She has been on the #Flowserve team almost 10 years now. As Director of Engineering & Product Design, her days are never the same. “Sometimes I’m traveling and very focused on the team I’m with. Other days I’m in my office in Germany with quiet time in the mornings and busy afternoons and evenings once the Western Hemisphere is awake.” Hanna’s favorite part of the work that she does is the ability to experience a global perspective at Flowserve. She also appreciates the opportunity to connect with excellent engineering minds, sharing best practices and solving challenges together. “I’m very proud of the team that I’m with. We have so many exceptional engineers in our community globally… it’s thrilling to enable these teams and people.” In her free time, Hanna enjoys Thai boxing, motorcycling and music, but her biggest joy are her children: “I love seeing them grow and develop.”
