Pros

YPF is a great company to work in. It is a world class operator that provides professional growing opportunities. Lots to learn as it is Argentina's biggest operator with the largest CAPEX. They also give you lots of responsibility. Great working environment, great people.

Cons

Integration among reservoir specialities is low, doubling or tripling efforts. Salaries are below average. Long hours, high production pressure.

Pros

There are some professionals with a long experience at the company from you can learn. The company scale implies a lot of Engineering projects at all time, which offers a great opportunity to learn O&G related technical skills. The HQ facilities are magnificent. In the beginning is exciting.

Cons

A lot of change in management in about a little more than a decade and the last nationalization, corporate culture has changed so many times to the point that now it's negative or even non-existent. Being the major company of a country, there is a very conditioning tacit belief that there's nothing "out there".

Pros

Old professionals with a long experience at the company are great. It's an outstanding place to learn O&G related technical skills. The HQ facilities are magnificent. In the beginning is exciting.

Cons

With six management in about a little more than a decade and the last nationalization, corporate culture has changed so many times to the point that now it's negative or even non-existent. Don't expect work-life balance at all. Being the major company of a country, there is a very conditioning tacit belief that there's nothing "out there". No training. Promotions and benefits are based on favoritism. The company it's not suited for those unwilling to put most of their energy on facetime and internal corporate politics. Current and future situation are absolutely related to national politics.
