Pros

Reasonable creativity with merchandising. Was (past tense) a really fun company to work for before they went public.

Cons

Nowhere near competitive pay. Work will be demanded of you that is above your pay grade. Area/Regional management will probably never listen to any questions, comments, or even concerns. Corporate and upper management speak to associates like they are 4 years old and incapable of reading, writing, and other basic motor skills. Want to get promoted? Good luck and don't hold your breath.

Pros

The pay is reasonable. Ability to control most of the visual aspect of the store, permitted you agree with your area manager.

Cons

Discount is bad, there is minimal room for internal growth. The company is young and still doesn't really know what they're doing. Corporate constantly changes their mind about almost every decision that is sent out to the boutiques and there's not really a consistent line of communication which is pretty disastrous. There are no floor sets which is great, but in giving you creative license you also had to answer to your area manager about the choices that you've made which I promise will be wrong almost all of the time.

Pros

-employee discount (30-50% depending on position) -many opportunities for growth and advancement -visual merchandising freedom (to an extent) -yearly raise based on review

Cons

-Managers receive little support from upper management- will undermine you in front of your employees when there's an issue -constantly receive contradicting instructions from corporate -not enough payroll hours to "task" for shipment, merchandising, new hire training, etc- expected to do it all during open hours -want you to focus on customers, but also get a long to do list done by the end of the day -employees receive no repercussions for blatantly defying you and breaking policy- nearly impossible to fire anyone -bonus program is nearly unachievable -set unattainable sales goals which really demotivates your team -small team, so very inflexible schedule for students or people with a life outside of work -on-call 7 days a week -make you use a whole week of PTO if you need a Friday or Monday off (for example: if you want to take Wednesday-Friday off for PTO, you will have to take Monday-Friday off, thus using 5 days instead of just 3)
