Pros

The pay is decent but it is not worth the stress

Cons

the entire company is crooked and they do illegal things OFTEN! I cannot say too much because I currently have a case open with the EEOC and have a lawsuit pending against this evil company.

Pros

Money is decent, growth opportunities, and the job is easy enough

Cons

Company culture is awful: work work work mentality, very impersonal work environment, terrible company policies, other departments hang up on you when you try to transfer and leadership is so disappointing. Managers will meet with you and rather than come prepared with pointers for you to improve they want you to come up with your own pointers…um excuse me…what’s your job exactly? Why am I basically managing myself? ZERO positive feedback or warmth. The company is like working for a piece of metal. No feelings in the work environment. Just cheesy attempts at making you feel valued when the managers make you feel like a number. Also…training was awful!!! Super unhelpful once we actually started working - hasn’t been 6 months and I’m already looking for new employment.

Pros

Great people, good benefits. I really enjoyed the job I did as it was quite interesting and unique role at eBay.

Cons

The feeling of big brother is watching you was terrible. As a Team Leader and a coach it was worse as you had to treat your team as kids who had to be disciplined rather than treating them as adults. Also the TDO (stands for Temporary Development Opportunity) or Gig process is very hit and miss. The idea is to allow people to work in a role on a temporary basis helping them build the skills necessary to take forward if the role became permanent. I had 4 of these opportunities in my time and 2 were fantastic where the manager kept close to me, kept me regularly updated through feedback and made the experience pleasant. Then I had 2 where I was literally thrown into the role with no guidance whatsoever and little to no support from the manager creating a very frustrating experience. If you are a current or future employee and thinking of applying for a Gig you should talk to the hiring manager to understand how they will support you if you go for the role.
