Pros

For the most part, eBay employs people of a very high caliber. Working with others who are intelligent and motivated keeps me engaged, motivated, and at the top of my game.

Cons

In recent years employee morale has waned as the company has executed poorly and lost market share to competition. eBay's poor execution is not for lack of effort, however, but for lack of leadership and commitment to goals. Tens of millions of dollars has been spent on eBay development over the last couple of years that has never (and will never) see the light of day, due to frequent changes in direction and focus by eBay leadership.

Pros

It is fun to work for a company that everyone knows. Despite being mostly negative on the company I am a John Donahoe fan -- other execs like Stephanie Tilenius need to go, though.

Cons

Below market compensation. Whiplash from ever-changing strategies. Too much outsourcing, and too many contractors who don't care about eBay (or even use the website).
