Pros

Great environment, second job in which I feel like part of something bigger. My input is taken into account thanks to a great supervisor, the information is getting to the right people and the right managemtn. Great benefits and the treatment of employees is outstanding.

Cons

Sometims it can be strict by the book, which means that is some few issues there is no flexibility.

Pros

eBay offers a great benefits package, ranging from the standard medical, dental and optical, to RRSP matching, to competitive renumeration. Bagel day once a week, and free pop, coffee, tea and hot chocolate are also great additions to working there. The recently added lounge is a great concept, but lacks certain factors that will make it great in practice too. In-House training offered on an ongoing basis is also appreciated, but too often, a fight has to be put up before it's granted. The gym built for employees is also appreciated. Good 'events' (eg. sports tournaments, 'eBay-zing Race', etc.) offered throughout the year, but need to be more consistent year-over-year.

Cons

The company currently lacks a lot of communications from Executive Management team down. New initiatives/policies are implemented without the input from those in the front of the line - the CSRs dealing with the buyers and sellers in the Community who, all too often, have to deal with these changes or risk the status of their accounts. Input from CSRs would help prevent a revolt in the community as sometimes, 'boycotts' occur after a change is implemented that the community is not receptive of. Furthermore, training on these new initiatives/policies happen a few days before the launch, which does not permit time to ask questions and raise concerns to management/policy makers for re-considerations, especially when such new policies contradict ones that are already in place, which happens more often than not. The tools the agents use are also in need of upgrades as technical issues happen too much. Personal time off is also hard to come by as we need to build up these hours - approximately 5 hours every two weeks, depending on your tenure. Electronic timecards are good in terms of keeping track of attendance, but no room for flexibility in emergency situations.

Pros

Actually quite fun work environment, people were good to work with and helpful.

Cons

Too centralised with many major decisions / bottlenecks having to come from US headquarters. Also not bold enough on innovation, and no visible technology leader - plenty of consultant / powerpoint types.
