Pros

-No pros, other than sometimes there are nice colleagues, so you can all suffer together. -gives you money to survive

Cons

Mean environment, it literally teaches you to be mean as well because there is no other option. Management gives you no respect at all, they are super bossy. Everyone talks to you like you are the bottom of the food chain. No one ever gives you recognition even if you are trying your best or even doing more than expected. You are giving most of the times 3 tasks at one time which makes it super stressful and no one acknowledge this hard work. We are not expected to help customers that's why we look mean and like we don't care but we are so busy with all the tasks that there is no energy to help customers. So much drama between the stuff that its like soap opera. This job becomes your life and your life becomes miserable because all the drama and mean attitude of your coworkers. This job literally drains you.

Pros

Pay is the biggest perk, $12/hr in New York City (I can't speak for other cities). There is ALWAYS something to do, depending on the location where you work and what department. Women's department is hectic and the busiest, but you never just look around for work or pretend to be busy. There is possibility of moving up, since the company openly hires from the inside before hiring outside higher positions. Also, you meet great people!

Cons

Stores are mismanaged. There is no communication between departments and between employees and managers. Schedules are almost always messed up, so you have to go through the process of playing telephone with managers and looking for someone to take your shift. Employee discount is terrible, only 15%, and that's after 3 months of working. Speaking of promotions, most of the people holding corporate or high paying jobs in ZARA are all from Spain. Maybe it's just because I work near the corporate office in NYC, but it is true.
