Pros
The sky is the limit in ZF. There is nothing stopping anyone from moving up the ranks. Numerous younger people have been moved into mid and executive management, many of which are non-German. ZF values employees very much. Even during the down turn in 2008 every strategy was employed to avoid any layoffs. This resulted in 0 people actually losing their jobs, which was phenomenal.
Cons
As with any global company, it is not easy to balance centralized control with local for local focus. Highly matrixed company makes some decisions and strategies had to implement or continue focus.
