Good employee benefits and has an excellent work atmosphere. Lot of learning opportunities are available.

Cons

Selling a high quality high priced product in a cost conscious market is tough. Carl Zeiss products are of superior quality and deservedly have a high price tag attached, which makes it tougher to sell them with cheaper alternatives from Japan

Carl Zeiss Vision: inept management, hostile work environments

The people I got to work with in the labs. They're innocent bystanders in a screwed-up corporate system.

Cons

Hostile work environment for gays, older people, and women. If you have some ideas and put them forth, they don't listen because Corporate didn't think of it first. Then months later, Corporate magically comes up with the same idea and now it's wonderful. They're so afraid of being shown up by anyone who knows more than they do that they prey on smart people (especially the Corporate HR group), mobbing and harassing anyone who they decide is "weird" or different, or doesn't agree with every stupid thing Corporate comes up with.
