      Good Stepping Stone or First Job out of College

      Pros

      Work is not so technical and allows you time to study for master's degree or finishing your Bachelor's degree. Facility is clean and one of the nicest looking/designed buildings around the state.

      Cons

      Performance doesn't tie in to promotions or merits. Salary is low compared to others in same industry, upward movement into management is very limited

      Pros

      The best part of Yazaki is the people. They have some really great employees and you really have a sense of community. They are focused on the community and sponsor several events throughout the year to support community service groups. They offer flex time and a casual work environment. They have plants and office all over the world which gives you an opportunity to work with and learn about many different cultures.

      Cons

      Being a global company, there are many opportunities for late night conference calls with counterparts on the other side of the world. The customer base can be very demanding and require long work weeks.

      Pros

      Yazaki is very fair to its empoyees. Even when they laid off 300 people, they paid two weeks severance per year of employment, paid for continuing medical insurance, paid for unused vacation and sicks days, and paid for an outside company to teach you how to write your resume, network, interview, etc.

      Cons

      I was only given assigments that matched what I had done before, so I never got to learn how to do things that would have helped me to get a job after I was laid off.
